We begin with a flashback of Akira’s preparations.
It involves discerning spices on different plates just by smelling while being bound to a chair and blindfolded.

Then we have a flashback of Ryou’s preparations.
Alice goes searching around the Nakiri mansion for him only to find him in the middle of some pushups.
Alice ends up interrupting him cause he’s sweaty and Ryou, mad at her, provokes her and it’s insinuated they had a cooking challenge after that.

We go back to the semi-final.
Gin reminds us that the theme is the same as for the Subaru vs Souma match, a “western-style main dish” and the cooking begins.
